Our country is filled by much foreign talent. From our table tennis player who cant even hold the flag well, to the filipino managers serving Waffles at Galare.
We were at Lucky plaza, the cross roads of filipino maids and their indian boyfriends.
Being thirsty, we wanted to buy bubble tea.
My husband asked,"Which flavour is nice?"
I answered,"Chocolate caramel."
"Do you have chocolate caramel?" He asked the server who had a strong accent from China.
"Yes we have caramel."
After some pouring and shaking and packaging....
"Dear, how come the caramel is orange in colour?"
I asked the strong accented lady," Hey is this chocolate caramel?"
She says," No chocolate, its carrot melk."
To my horror,"What?! i asked for caramel. Not carrot milk!"
Horror horror," Yah, its carrot melk."
Foreign talent?
I know its cheap to hire these foreign workers. But shouldnt they be sent for some basic english classes?
e.g. Green Tea, Caramel, Chocolate Milk
And have you experienced getting change from a filipino accented server?
"Bor pipty, please."
Huh?!!
"Pardon me?"
"Bor pipty."
In case you have out figured out, its $4.50
I look at it this way. Save money on hiring them, spend money on training them. Or lose money on driving customers away

Haha ma zi, I understand your frustration with untrained foreign workers working in the service sector. I experienced encounters similar to yours especially with Chinese mainland workers who sell drinks.
So what are your experiences with them? carrot melk?
haha
