
20/6/08, i received an email from HDB notifying that i am selected to choose a flat in Clementi.
I found out that the estimated travel time via MRT was only 34 mins from Clementi - Buangkok. Not too bad.
The catch it that they only have 2 units left. One in #01-606 and #02-606. My mother in-law found out about it and starting giving me what she heard from people who stayed in 2nd floor. Mainly, she dwelt on all the negative. Surprisingly, all the examples she gave me were people staying either in Tampines or Pasir Ris.
In addition i stayed at Serangoon Ave 4 (2nd floor) for 15 years and i have never had my flat flooded with water or shit. Or have many mosquitoes all the time in the flat. All these she mentions are like myths to me.
I told my husband to be…be it 12th storey, 1st storey..all has its good and bad points.
My dad who is currently living in Bishan and also 2nd floor, offerred to take us there to view the place.
To my surprise, the area was already built. We asked one of the residents in #08-606 to let us view his house.
We viewed the 1st and 2nd floor and realised that the place was very windy. And the area really looks good. We were deciding on the 2nd floor.
Later when i went home, i realised that the evaluation #01 -606 $480000 and #02-606 $478000.
Too expensive!
The guy who allowed us to view his house…said they moved in 2 1/2 yrs ago and bought the flat for only $350000.
Sadly no matter how we were drooling over our new house…it flew out of our hands
